A rare and sought after Staffordshire pottery figure of the famous circus elephant, Jumbo, ©1850. His name JUMBO is shown on the base. This is the large Majolica figure, smaller Kent versions came later. Excellent condition. Any glaze misses, kiln kisses or age-related crazing that are present in no way detract from the piece.
